Rules & Regulations * Entry Specifications
Ø Team: Three students enrolled in a Clay County High School.
Ø Task: Build an original contraption (no recycled contraptions from previous races) that can be pushed, pulled, pedaled OR carried through a timed barrel race. The entry and participants must exemplify the theme of a “Turkey”. Entries must be built prior to Saturday, April 9th.
Ø Particulars: Entries must be propelled by the participants - no motor, electricity or power-source allowed. One senior MUST be riding the contraption. Entries may not include live animals. Entries will be disqualified if any of the participants attend schools outside Clay County. Turn in entries at the Caboose or email Kate Hopkins at claycountychamber@sbcglobal.net no later than April 1st, 2024.
Ø Judging: 100 point scale (50 points for creativity, 50 points for timed race). Winner will be announced at 3:30 pm.
Ø Prize: 1st Place $1,500 ($500 per team member); 2nd Place -$750 ($250 per team member); 3rd Place - $255.00 ($85.00 per team member) Will be awarded at Award Ceremony or Graduation.
Ø Barrel Race: Participating teams must meet at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 13th, at the TF bandstand to prepare for the barrel race. Teams will compete starting at noon and results will be around 12:00 pm depending on the number of teams.
