We weren't able to recognize and give the award at the Annual Banquet so we had the winners joins us at our monthly meeting. Help us congratulate the following winners:
2021 Individual of Year - Keith Burch. His award was presented by his wife Wendy.
Keith has been a wonderful husband to the love of his life, Wendi, for 39 years. And yes, they have all been wonderful...for him! Together they raised two amazing kids and have 5 beautiful grandchildren! Keith's dedication to living a life for Christ and loving his family is what makes him such a wonderful man. So how did he get here? It must've taken a lot to get to this old, bossy, smarty pants status that he has accomplished. Well, let's go alllllll the way back to 1979 when he graduated Henrietta High School. Keith and Wendi are Henrietta lifers! After graduation, his dad passed him the torch to Burch Brick Construction where he learned the meaning of hard work and dedication to his job! Since Keith has such a serving heart, he joined the Wichita Falls Fire Department in 1985 balancing both careers at the time. After 21 years of service, he retired as a lieutenant of the Wichita Falls Fire Department in 2006. So, after all that time of hero and hustle, he made a career shift to insurance adjusting where he traveled the United States, living on the road, chasing hurricanes, tornados, floods and hail storms. After 6 years of adventures and missing his family, he ended up at the Allred Maximum Security Prison in Iowa Park. No no no, don't worry, he was an employee not a resident...although I don't think we have ever actually verified that....He is finally back working and living in his hometown here as our Clay County Emergency Management Coordinator where he has again served beyond his call of duty, protecting so many lives, AND learning how to work social media...for the live updates of course! For those of us who know Keith Burch, we know the kind of sacrifice he makes for others, his love for our Lord and his family. I think we all can agree we are more blessed to know him!.
2021 Business of Year - Cow Palace Couture - Lacy Cody, Owner
They opened its doors to the public at 110 S Bridge Street in June of 2013. Prior to that date, owner, Lacy Cody had a vision. She envisioned a place where local Henrietta residents could come to shop the hottest trends in fashion at an affordable rate. She also wanted to offer a place where local businesses could place their items inside Cow Palace Couture. After talking to several different Henrietta small business owners, she had 13 local people agree to help fill the business and keep it fresh and full. After finding the best location on Bridge near the town square, that dream and vision came to fruition. Since establishing herself, Lacy has brought the best of women's fashion, children's clothing, and various apparel as well as specialty items for County and City events. In the past seven years, Cow Palace Couture has presented Clay County as well as neighboring counties with apparel for a multitude of occasions, customized spirit-wear for countless schools and much more! Lacy, entrepreneur and business owner, has enjoyed styling each customer that's walked through her door, as well as seeing her business thrive and bring value to Henrietta.
